When most people travel they look on websites and compare prices in deciding where they will be going, what they will be doing, and most importantly, where they will be staying.

Some stay at Five Star resorts, some stay at guest houses, some at Air Bnb, and others with friends and family.

No matter where they pick, their hope is to have a safe and enjoyable place to call home during their vacation.

A few weeks ago people from around the globe headed to St Lucia in order to attend the United Nations Committee of 24 on Decolonisation.

Persons travelled from the South Pacific, the mid-Atlantic, Europe, Asia, Africa, and other Caribbean Islands.

For one week they would meet and discuss issues pertaining to the needs of 17 countries still under the colonial control of the European nations of France, and the United Kingdom.

One of the defining topics of the conference was the unilateral support for the Virgin Islands against the attempt of recolonisation by the United Kingdom.

Delegates of Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, Belize, Dominica, St Lucia, Grenada, and Turks and Caicos Islands spoke up for the sovereignty of the people of the Virgin Islands

Regardless of where on the globe they came from, for one week they were all under one roof.

For one week there was one place that they all called home.

The Harbour Club Hotel

Located in Rodney Bay, St Lucia, the Harbour Club boast modern contemporary designs throughout its entire facility. It was designed and built by St Lucians under the guidance of the owner, Caribbean native, Mr Wes Hall

From the moment one walks through the front door there is a feeling of style, function, and space.

  • There are approximately 115 rooms and suites. Some offer views of the mountain ranges and others views of Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island.
  • A fully equipped gym
  • Luxurious Spa
  • A number of restaurants
  • Meeting rooms

No matter where you are on the grounds you will always see someone ensuring the hotel property is cleaned to meet the highest health standards.

Without a doubt, the greatest asset of the Harbour Club is its team members.

Young St Lucians run every facet of the operations; from the front desk, the housekeeping, the pool, and the restaurants. As we say in the Caribbean “Dem run tings!!”

Every step of the way they greet you with smiles, greetings, and most importantly a willingness to assist in every way.

Every delegate had nothing but high praises for the way we were embraced during our stay at our newfound home, The Harbour Club

Twin Pitons

The people of St Lucia are naturally loving and kind people who go out of their way to make visitors feel at home. Whether it was the staff at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Royal St Lucia Police officers, the numerous drivers, the event coordinators, or the staff at Sandals Grand resort our trip was one that all will remember.

Is this a promotional piece for St Lucia's hotel Industry? The topic fooled me or I am dumb? More details on what was discussed at the conference in respect of the "UK's attempt to recolonized the BVI" should have been included. If I were destined to spend a vacation here I will now rebook at the Harbour Club Hotel in St. Lucia.Seems like a very nice place.

One thing I have to say it is not a coincidence that the narcotics and corruption card is being played as an excuse for a UK take over.
