Several arrested & charged as road operations continue

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- As police continue their road operations aimed at lawbreaking motorists, several persons were arrested and charged during the period May 16-29, 2021, according to the Arrest Blotter released by the Royal Virgin Islands Police (RVIPF) on June 2, 2021.

Arrest Blotter for May 16 to May 29, 2021

DRIVING WITHOUT A DRIVER’S LICENCE

  1. On 24-05-2021 at 2044hrs, Police arrested and charged Violeta Bell, 31, a native of the Dominican Republic, residing in Fat Hogs Bay for Driving without Driver's Licence and Driving when not covered by a Policy of Insurance. She was granted bailed in the sum of $2,000 with one surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 07-08-2021. 
  2. On 24-05-2021 at 1725hrs, Police arrested and charged Shoko Isaac, 26, of Fat Hogs Bay for Driving without Driver's Licence and Driving when not covered by Policy of Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on 07-08-2021. 

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED DRUG

On 25-05-2021 at 1830hrs, Police arrested and charged Dajshon Benjamin, 24, of Greenland for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug and Driving without a Seatbelt. He was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 09-07-2021. 

PROHIBITION OF TINT

On 24-05-2021 at 1949hrs, Police arrested and charged Theron Harry, 26, of Fat Hogs Bay for Prohibition of Tints, Driving Unlicensed and Uninsured Vehicle, Using a License Plate on a Vehicle to which it has not been assigned, Failing to apply for change of Ownership of Vehicle, Fail to stop at the sound of a siren and Driving without Driver's Licence.  He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety to appear before Magistrate’s Court on 06-06-2021. 

DRUNKENNESS WHEN IN CHARGE OF A VEHICLE

  1. On 30-05-2021 at 0930hrs, Police arrested and charged Jose Romero, 46, a native of Uruguay, residing in Nanny Cay Marina for Drunkenness when in Charge of a Vehicle.
  2. On 19-05-2021 at 0050hrs, Police arrested and charged Romeshwar Persaud, 32, a native of Guyana, residing in Sea Cows Bay for Drunkenness when in charge of a Vehicle and Criminal Damage. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with a signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 06-30-2021. 

FAILING TO STOP AT THE SOUND OF A SIREN

On 19-05-2021 at 1956hrs, Police arrested and charged Branson Fahie, 28, of Lambert Estate for Failing to stop at the Sound of a Siren, Driving an Unlicensed and Uninsured Vehicle, Driving without a Crash Helmet, Driving without Rear Lights, Driving without Front Identification Plate and Driving without Rear Identification Plate. He was granted bail in his own recognisance in the sum of $2,000 to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 09-07-2021.

    This is from reliable source there is a Drivers license scam going on lots of people buying there licenses lots in the Hannah’s estate.

    it is not a scam.drivers license is being sold from the licensing department like hot bread. this is a fact. the matter is going to be dealt with .people will Start to resign from the licensing department in the coming days and weeks.and for all those that paid $1 200 dollars for your license you are going to be charged and your license revoked.. and yes their are many who bought their drivers license.
