Security advisor to be appointed to Governor’s Office by early 2026- Gov Pruce
"We are in the process of identifying an individual that could fulfill that role. I would hope to have them in place in the early part of next year, and I think that would bring significant benefit across the board to the work that we are doing in the security and justice space."
The governor stated that this decision stems from commitments he made during the anti-crime summit held from September 24-26, 2025.
"So, firstly, I undertook to put in place a senior strategic security advisor in my office. This is somebody who will be a security professional with a lot of experience who can provide expert guidance and support on all matters related to the safety and security of the Virgin Islands. That would be a significant and very positive addition to the capability in my office."
Governor Pruce confirmed that the role will be fully funded by the United Kingdom, through the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.
