ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– The process is underway to identify a security advisor for appointment to the Governor’s Office. Governor Daniel Pruce made the announcement during a press conference on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

"We are in the process of identifying an individual that could fulfill that role. I would hope to have them in place in the early part of next year, and I think that would bring significant benefit across the board to the work that we are doing in the security and justice space."

The governor stated that this decision stems from commitments he made during the anti-crime summit held from September 24-26, 2025.

"So, firstly, I undertook to put in place a senior strategic security advisor in my office. This is somebody who will be a security professional with a lot of experience who can provide expert guidance and support on all matters related to the safety and security of the Virgin Islands. That would be a significant and very positive addition to the capability in my office."

Governor Pruce confirmed that the role will be fully funded by the United Kingdom, through the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.

the NSC is an advisory body to the governor on security matters .... read the constitution .... so governor hiring somebody else to do what the NSC is supposed to be doing .... should not this person advise the NSC which then advises the governor .... hmmmm wtf

DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO (NOT WANT) GOVERNOR DANIEL PRUCE.

In reference to the topic issue on the table; I am not concerned whether the person that will get the job was born here or thex or of the ethics origin, That which I desire is when who appointed, the execution of advisory work is being done skillfully, honestly, and wisel, God been the strengthening wisdom.

I am tired of reading rasist local ignorant comments on VINO been maded by hinderers of security measure proposal been approved.
