Scooter rider ‘almost killed me’ back in 2014 - Rosemary Cindy Rosan
Rosan was at the time speaking as a telephone guest on the ‘Da Morning Braff’ radio show on Tola radio 100.5 FM hosted by Floyd Burnett aka 'Heritage' on March 22, 2022.
No respect on roads - Rosan-Jones
“I feel like there is no respect across the board, that the motorists, the scooter riders… there has to be a level of respect traversing the road,” Rosan said while discussing the spate of motor scooter accidents plaguing the territory.
“I mean one of these bikes almost killed me when I just moved home in 2014, somebody stop to let me out, I was crossing over the road to go to work… He zoomed right across, passed all the cars and he almost killed me,” she revealed.
Rosan added that as it relates to road use, persons must have more respect for the roads and the life of others.
“There has to be a respect for the road, and respect for life… and there’s none right now,” she added.
Need for protection gear - Rosan-Jones
Meanwhile, Rosan also raised concerns over the lack of use of protective gear such as helmets for scooter riders.
“Your body cannot take that type of impact, why are they not wearing helmets and so?… Its lot of recklessness, it's crazy to watch.”
On March 8, 2022, 'Cindy' announced her bid as an Independent At-Large Candidate in the next VI General Election.
While she did not state her platform or reason to enter politics, Rosan said her platform will be “authentic” and will “remain steadfast for a better Virgin Islands.”
