How does the below statement make sense and you don’t know who these people are?

So why is this a secret. Usually when someone dies they release the name as soon as they identified the decease.

@Real Mccoy, why don't you allow the Police to do their work? If they say they cannot release her identification at the moment it must be for a valid reason. Some of you could have never been a Police Officer because you're not confidential. Let them do the work that they were trained to do and STOP asking questions. Don't you see that this is a very suspicious case? When the time is right they will do what they have to do.

@Real Macoy. The reason they can't release the name is they have to notify next of kin/family. If they release her name before notifying them the police department can be sued.

Usually they would notify the next of kin before releasing identity of the decease to the public, but on the flip side of that, the releasing of curtain information can help lead the investigation into the right direction as to the who the missing person is, where they embarked from and their destination.

Clearly and unfortunately this is a homicide. Show the boat that's involved - maybe someone can identify it and may know the owner. It may have also been stolen but someone knows the victim and may also know circumstances surrounding this matter.
    All the best.

Police normally release the identity of persons after the notification of next of kin. I think most of who are commenting here knows this. But hey the critics will have their say.

@guy hill Sure, but it's been over a week. They know who she is and where she's from. They have telephones in the DR.

How can the public assist if they are not fully informed. It was another murder which will go unsolved. The woman and the missing man was supposed to be shark bait.

They need to post pictures of the gunmen indeed. In the USVI and the US, the gunmen pictures is posted. Oops, I forgot, they don’t post the gunmen pictures because who they are related to. Continue to be laughing stocks and the BVI State of murder mind.
