Reynaldo A. C. Hewlett ordered deported from VI
Governor Rankin signed the Deportation Order on September 4, 2023, under section 40(1)(b) and (c) of the Immigration and Passport Act (Revised Edition 2013).
According to the Order, it has come to the Governor’s knowledge that Hewlett is a person not deemed to belong to the Territory and that he has been convicted of the offence of Burglary contrary to section 225(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (Revised Edition 2013) which is punishable with imprisonment of three months or more, and is a person whose presence in the Territory would, in the opinion of the Governor, acting after consultation with the Chief Immigration Officer, be undesirable and not conducive to the public good.
The Order further stated that Governor Rankin “hereby order the said REYNALDO HEWLETT to leave the Territory of the Virgin Islands on or before the expiration of seven days from the date on which a copy of this Order is served on him by an immigration officer or a police officer, and thereafter to remain out of the Territory;
“AND I do further order that the said REYNALDO HEWLETT be placed on board the first available ship or aircraft about to leave the Territory and that the said REYNALDO HEWLETT may be detained until he is placed on a ship or an aircraft, unless he appeals to the Governor in writing against the making of this Order before the expiration of the said period of seven days.”

There is a dude here skating down the road, who was deported from Antigua.
Curiosity or is it natural and common sense to include the destination of his deport?
ALL deportations requests come from the Immigration Department; NOT the Governor, not the U.K., Immigration --its our people. Governor accepts or rejects the request. The law says after serving more than 3 months in prison, ALL persons deemed not to belong to the BVI are served a deportation notice. They have the right to make a request to stay through a lawyer if they want. Hewlett, HIMSELF, decided it was time to go. If you don't believe, go ask any immigration officer.
Be a responsible blogger please!!!
Never interfere with the judgment of God or you yourself might be under God’s judgment as well!
He had no sympathy for the society in which he lived. He was blessed and did not appreciate his blessings. If he kept on that narrow road, he may have lost his life. Maybe he has been given a second chance to life but in another country. May God be with him!
It may sound strange, but this week, two areas that are Hot Spots in Lower Estates were hinted just before Officers on Foot Patrol passed us on the street walking by..
We looked them in their face and saw GUILT before they drove off.
How will this ever stop when the Officers and dem culprits are wuking wid oneanother.
We don't have have the special facility to accommodate or rehab these people. So you would expect that the government along with the policy crack down on selling of any type of drugs.
Trying to keep shame outta his countrymen eyes??
No worry, Shame is an unknown concept and emotion to the strays from that region, in addition to gratitude and give back.
