FAHIE HILL, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has reported that a firearm and several rounds of ammunition were recovered following a search operation at a residence in the Fahie Hill area on December 30, 2025.

One male has been arrested and taken into custody for questioning in connection with the recovery.

This operation forms part of the RVIPF’s violence reduction strategy which prioritises the removal of firearms and ammunition from the streets.

Firearms are the weapons of choice for many violent offenders and almost all the murders in the Territory over the past 20 years have involved the use of firearms, the RVIPF stated in a press release today, December 31, 2025.

Acting Commissioner Jacqueline E. Vanterpool has commended the officers for their diligence, commitment and courage as the RVIPF seeks to maintain its focus on continuously improving public safety.

Anyone with information about illegal weapons or suspicious activity can confidentially contact the intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or (284) 800-8477 from overseas.

Police said all information shared will be treated with the utmost confidence.
