Official search for Carlos Titley called off
The comprehensive massive search for the local man ended on Tuesday November 15, 2016, according to Coordinator of Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) J. Phil Aspinal.
Titley did not return home following a fishing quest on November 11, 2016. He was declared officially missing at sea when the Dutch Coast Guards discovered his boat with the engine still running off St Croix but the man was nowhere in sight.
According to Aspinal, although the official search has been called off, both the US Coast Guards and VI authorities have taken steps to inform the relevant authorities of airlines and boat operators that may ply the area via air and sea to keep an eye out for the missing man.
Persons close to the family said Carlos’ disappearance has hit the family hard as he is a well-loved member of the family circle. They said that not having any closure at this time is the hardest thing but they are, however, remaining hopeful to wake up one day to seeing Carlos back home.
