NSC commits to working with RVIPF following recent murder
The NSC held its weekly meeting, chaired by Acting Governor David D. Archer, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, just hours after the fatal shooting of Devorn H. Furlonge, 28, in Purcell Estate.
The incident occurred some time after 7:00 AM outside Furlonge’s workplace.
Interim Acting Commissioner of Police Richard Ullger briefed the NSC on the investigation.
Brazen & heinous act
The NSC, in its statement, added that it “strongly condemns this heinous and brazen act”.
The NSC also reiterated its deep concern over the loss of life in what it termed an “illegal and violent manner”.
“The Council extends its deepest condolences to the family and any other loved ones of the victim,” the statement continued.
The NSC said it will continue to work diligently with the RVIPF to use the full weight of the law to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
Public support solicited
The NSC also called on members of the public to support the police in preventing and detecting crime.
They also urged persons with information to contact the police, call Crime Stoppers or use the confidential and untraceable hotline 800-8477 (TIPS), 800-847-8477, or 368-9339.
The Council also reassured the public that RVIPF will use all of its resources and capacity to keep the community safe during this Christmas season.

this style of killing matches the same style of murder of benny in fish bay.
can you also get known criminals who are aware of the escapees to come forward before that same prisoner turn on them and kill them. (doubt they would come forward they rather dead by the same guy)
Over 90% of the Police are deemed to be outsider, expats or Islandmen, make a choice, with a very small percent branded as "Virgin Islander". ( with parents who were born here and who could trace their grand parents four generation on the Islands)
When you dissect this small group, you will also discover that those who "were born here" with one or both parents from outside the territory are placed in a different category. One of the most common reference is " He/she is not one of is"
The recent demonstrations about the reversion of the Ag. Commisioner and the appointment of a foreign person to fill that rank, was not a support for the Police Force nor about crime, not about law enforcement on a whole but for one person, a BVIslander, who was about to make history.
This is where we are.
To be fair to the BVI, The Police is nobody's friend regardless of which country you visit. They are always the subject as I mentioned, of curruption, abusers and mistrust amongst other things.
How ever, without them we are left to the mercy of criminal elements and other corrupt elements of our society.
Whether you are a "true" BV Islander or an expat, crime has no boundaries. You could be could just be going about your daily business, driving or walking to work, in your home or a business place or even in church when a crime could impact you. With the way things are going, let's pray it wouldn't be a stray bullet.
Let's say NO to crimes in these beautiful territories. Where are the organisers, the Cs?
