New Opposition Leader needed ahead of constitutional talks with UK- Pastor Skelton-Cline

- Said Premier Wheatley & Hon Walwyn are ‘not in agreement’ on many matters & it would be a risk taking the Opposition Leader
Pastor Claude O. Skelton-Cline said Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) (left) and Opposition Leader Hon Myron V. Walwyn (R6) (right) are not on the same page and shouldn’t negotiate the Territory’s constitution with the United Kingdom together. Photo: YouTube/HoA

BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- “I am more convinced now than ever before that the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition should not go anywhere together to negotiate this constitution.” These were the words of social commentator Pastor Claude O. Skelton-Cline during his weekly radio show, Honestly Speaking, on ZBVI 780 AM, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

On the episode titled, ‘The Future’ is Now', Pastor Skelton-Cline reiterated his stance on Opposition Leader Hon Myron V. Walwyn (R6) accompanying Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) to the United Kingdom (UK) for constitutional talks.

This solidification of his opinion came after listening to both Premier Wheatley and Hon Walwyn during the recent House of Assembly sitting, where the 2022-2023 Constitution Review Commission Report was debated.

They are not in agreement

Pastor Skelton-Cline has previously shared this view on his show in June 2025, during which he warned that the two men were not truly amicable with each other due to his own observations.

The Constitution Review Report suggested that the word ‘indigenous’ in the Constitution be replaced with ancestral Virgin Islanders, a section most members of the HoA were not opposed to, with some even expressing their pride in being an indigenous Virgin Islander.

This section, however, struck a nerve with Hon Walwyn, who sought to play down being an indigenous Virgin Islander and not being worth much.

Pastor Skelton-Cline during Tuesday’s show said, “They’re not on the same page, they’re not going to be in agreement, and we’re going to sit before the UK divided and run the risk of coming up less than what we have had in our 2007 constitution.”

Change the Opposition Leader just for a time

The open critic of both the ruling government and the opposition added that he is past being concerned and is now scared by this situation.

“If for no other reason and if for a moment, I don’t know if it’s the member for the Second District, I don’t know if it’s the member for the Eighth District, or the At-Large member, but you all need to get together and you all need to have a change in the leadership of the opposition if only for a moment and if only for this purpose of negotiating the 2007 constitution, else.”

Pastor Skelton-Cline added that if this is not done, he will continue to call for the negotiation of the constitution to be stalled from any platform or podium he speaks.

“I’m just being lovingly honest with you as I can.”

@ Really:, New Life Baptist Church, Duff Bottom, Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

Note: He is a real pastor. Even crooked pastors are pastors, too. Only that they are pretending to be genuine ones in their sermons. They preach to people that love to hear what they believe.

Note: He is, in fact, as a wolf clothes in sheep's skin.

Myron Walwyn, birth place is Tortola. He is a native, and his birth rights of the preveledge to participate in any contritution reform discussion that will have a positive effect to, and on the people of the British Virgin Islands., even though, I heard that his parents were not born in the B.V.I.

The latest embarrassments occurred last week, when Walwyn fired off several zingers during the debate on the same day, causing ancestral Virgin Islanders to be by turns shocked, puzzled or — most devastatingly — indifferent. He does not believe in local protection

Beware of calls for unity that demands silence. When dissent is sidelined for optics, “narrative control” creeps in dressed as diplomacy. Walwyn’s discomfort is not a disqualification, it’s a democratic necessity. If his stance unsettles, let it be tested, not buried. The constitutional table must be wide enough to contend with dissenting views. Anything less is not negotiation, it’s choreography.
Sidelining the Opposition Leader is nothing but fake unity and even London’s darkest lens won’t miss it.

The protection of those with ancestors ties is one of the few things worth fighting over, in the new constitution

it was him who is now opposition leader who said you could no longer protect virgin islanders. it was him who proved that by all that he did while at MEC

People should not be judged by their appearance, nor place of birth, nor their age, nor their words only, nor by their known education status, nor by their material wealth, but by the word couple with action from their thoughts that have proven positively useful, Myron Walwyn, included.

Zip up your mouth, false pastor, Claude Skelton Cline.

Putting emotion aside, can you imagine what our territory would be like if "indigenous" Virgin Islanders only married or had children with other "indigenous" Virgin Islanders? We could have a population afflicted by mental and physical defects. Inbreeding can lead to congenital defects, cognitive disabilities, higher rates of stillbirth and post-natal death.

We have had sufficient time to form a committee of key stakeholders to identify the territory's needs and desires, reach a suitable conclusion through debate, and send representatives to negotiate on our behalf.

Myron has been more effective by far as the leader of the opposition than Ronnie and Marlon ever was. Claude is trying his best to help his uncle Ronnie for their own benefit. Keep the pressure on Myron

Myron is the sharpest intellectually among all of them and they know it. It is nothing but pure jealousy. If Myron was not in the House of Assembly when laws are being passed we would have been in a lot of trouble. Claude and his family are trying to spread a narrative for their own benefit. Anybody who listens and follows advice from Claude Cline need to have their head examined tbh.

He didn’t like being open, honest or transparent when he was asked to provide evidence during the commission of inquiry.

    Man duff protest too much.

Watch him on YouTube. Man should have gone into acting.
