Hon Walwyn should not accompany Premier for constitutional talks with UK- Skelton-Cline

On Honestly Speaking on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, Skelton-Cline said, “It is clear to me that the Premier of this country and the Leader of the Opposition are at complete odds.”
“They are getting ready to debate and then ultimately send a team, of which the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition would be a part, in the negotiation of the constitution with the United Kingdom of these Virgin Islands.”
‘These ingredients make for a bad stew’
Premier Wheatley and Hon Walwyn recently attended the 7th Sitting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Assembly on Tuesday, June 16, 2025, in St Vincent and the Grenadines, along with Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly Dr the Hon Karl Dawson (R1).
However, Mr Skelton-Cline said that the current difference in opinions of Premier Wheatley and Hon Walwyn will not augur well in discussions with the United Kingdom.
Hon Walwyn has been criticised for showing a complete lack of faith in the checks and balances systems in the territory by calling on Governor Daniel Pruce to intervene in the Bank of Asia (BVI) Limited fiasco.
“I am too discerned and too woke and too enlightened to see that the nature of this relationship and the pursuit that not relenting, how this and these ingredients are going to make for a bad stew.”
He questioned the ability of both Premier Wheatley and Hon Walwyn to properly and effectively represent the VI if they do not agree.
“How they going to work together if they don’t agree? How they going to hold hands if they don't get along?”
‘Do tell us that boldface lie’
Pastor Skelton-Cline also warned both Premier Wheatley and Hon Walwyn of making false public statements about them being amicable with each other in response to his observation.
“Ain’t no need for you all to rush to the mic and come tell me and this country that you are getting along and it’s going to be fine, don’t tell us that boldface lie because you’re going to make us even more nervous than we already are.”
He reiterated that the people of the VI cannot allow Premier Wheatley and Hon Walwyn to go anywhere together to discuss the VI’s constitutional matter.
Pastor Skelton-Cline also said he will reveal what he believes should be done on the next Honestly Speaking.

Keep him where he is.
Myron is more qualified as a minister to be there, along with the attorney general and I suspect the premier got to retain a private council. And there should be consultation with the people whom we say we are representing, they can't be leave in oblivion as natalio Wheatley and his brother is doing. I commend the brothers though, not a bad idea but I think they are trying to impose themselves into history, because they know lavety stout was not completely the father of the nation, so they want to do it. And putting the horse before the cart, take all you can get from uk and build your country first to stand on its own that when we finally go independent we would even move away from the monarchy system and be republic,
