New info reveals Cindy Rosan received $20K upon job severance

The letter of redundancy dated December 11, 2020, reveals that Rosan’s position was made redundant due to changes being made within the organisation, hence the position was no longer needed.
Rosan is a known critic of Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) and the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) administration.
Substantial sum already paid to Rosan
The letter to Rosan reads in part, “Please note, you will be paid through 31 December 2020 in the sum of four thousand five hundred and fifty-eight dollars and thirty-four cents ($4,558.34). Our records indicate that as of 11th December 2020, you will have a leave entitlement of twenty-four (24) days, as such all annual leave accrued and unused as of your last working day will be paid to you in the sum of five thousand and forty-nine dollars and twelve cents ($5,049.12). Additionally, you will also be paid the sum of eleven thousand five hundred and ninety-seven dollars and twenty cents ($11,597.20) for severance pay based on years of service with the Board in accordance with the Labour Code.”
A cheque in the amount of twenty thousand, two hundred and ninety-three dollars and thirty-four cents ($20,293.34) was attached to the said letter.
However, Rosan seems to have been dissatisfied with the compensation package she received since she retained legal representation and is seeking one million dollars from the state.
One million dollars for redundancy?
While redundancy is a form of termination, the job of Events Manager was made redundant and therefore Rosan was no longer needed at the BVITBFC to perform that job.
Although compensated based on her years of service with the Board, Rosan still wants more, one million, sixty thousand, eight hundred and thirty-nine dollars and thirty-two cents to be exact.
The information reportedly leaked to the public was dated October 28, 2022, in which Rosan asked for 216,000.00 in “loss of past earnings” and “loss of future earnings” for two years.
The talk show host also wanted $70,000.00 for her Personal Loan default, $48,000.00 for her “Inability to Complete Mortgage”, and $100,000.00 for “Damage to Financial Reputation”.
Regarding “Non-Economic Damages”, Rosan wanted $50,000.00 for stress and emotional distress, $50,000.00 for public embarrassment, and $30,000.00 for “Loss of Amenities (Life’s Joy)”.
Regarding her claims of wrongful termination, Rosan asked for $125,000.00. She also wanted $75,000.00 for ‘Victimisation’, $75,000.00 for ‘Defamation’, $100,000.00 for ‘Damage to Personal Reputation’, and $100,000.00 for ‘Damage to Professional Reputation’.
Should the Virgin Islands’ taxpayers’ money go towards paying such a large sum to Rosan after she was given a compensation package in line with the Territory’s Labour Code?
Reports have also said that Premier Wheatley refused to meek Rosan’s demands.
Virgin Islands News Online’s (VINO) attempts to reach Rosan for comment have been unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, the letter was first posted on Tola Radio VI but has since been taken down.
VINO will bring Rosan’s comments on this new information once received.

I certainly don’t care! I have more important personal matters to concentrate on. For example, how I’m going to manage my floundering business with minimum wage about to increase.
How much mine did some people get for being “consultants”? Much larger sum of money for doing nothing. But throwing stones now? I swear we have short term memory or think everyone else has short term memory in this place! Living in glass house…
No picture of this female attractive. I get upset looking ay her smh.
could someone please give this person something to do so we wouldn't have to see or hear from her again...
Thank you.
From reading above it seems she was paid every thing owed to her including redundancy pay.
Now she needs the death penalty not the head coach
Rosan would be owed both the funds she paid and those paid by the employer on behalf of her which is a percentage of her salaries.
Its unfortunate that most employers here in the Virgin Islands fail to tender payments to Social Security, NHI, Gov't taxes and Pension but religiously deduct the employees monies to directly line their own pockets. We are reminded its our respinsibility to check these Institutions to ensure the monies deducted from our salaries are paid up to date. If its not, then a discussion should be had with the employer or Accounts. If no redress is made then sue their behind and also ask the Court for legal fees as well. There are a lot of thieving employers here in the Virgin Islands. Perhaps a shame list of these perpetrators should be posted on the doors of each institution. Maybe then it would encourage them (Supermarkets, Law Firms, Restaurants, Hotels, Boutiques, Bakeries, etc) to do the right thing. I would also encourage each individual employee to check these institutions to ensure you are actually registered with them under your current employer. Sometimes moving to a new job doesn't necessarily means you get registered with that employer. The employer erroneously negate to advise the institution that you are now employed with them. I know i digress, sorry but sometimes there's a need to educate eachother on the intricacies of employment scams because thats whats happening. I don't personally know Ms Rosan, however i do wish her the best in her recourse to get whats rightfully hers. Lets remember, if there was no merits for this case no attorney would waste the Court's or their time filing a frivilous case. I do hope that both parties can reach an amicable resolution and just like Ms Rosan was afforded a voice to air her disdain for whatever she felt Virgin Islanders were being disadvantage that other persons cam do so as well without being castigated by the public or the Government. Its time we stopped calling persons we don't readily agree with as being mentally unstable. Mental illness is not a joke, therefore lets discontinue labelling others who we don't like or agree with as such.
On another note, whomever divulge the letters and other documentation to the public should be FIRED poste haste. Its not everything that should be posted for public consumption. Lets continue to pray for each other and may the Lord Almighty bless these beautiful Virgin Islands.
