ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The consulting Barbados based firm, Caribbean Development Research Services (CADRES), run and owned by Peter W. Wickham has released its final of three surveys conducted in the Virgin Islands.

Mr Wickham, speaking again to our newsroom moments ago, declined to reveal his client in the Territory that ordered and paid for the poll.

However, in the final poll, it shows on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, National Democratic Party voters rated Hon Myron V. Walwyn (AL), the Education and Culture Minister, with a 7.7 on Ministerial performance and gave the lowest rating to Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr The Honourable Kedrick D. Pickering (R7), who had 6.3.

Poll disclaimer

The pollster warned not to read into this too much and noted that throughout the region Ministers with Agriculture portfolios often rate low and those with education rate high because education is always one of the better performing sectors in the Caribbean over Agriculture.

In the same poll, NDP voters gave Premier and Minister of Finance Dr The Honourable D Orlando Smith (AL) 7.0 and Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL), the Health and Social Development Minister, a 6.3.

On the other hand, Virgin Islands Party (VIP) voters gave all ministers a failing grade, with 4.7 going to Walwyn and 3.8 going to Pickering. Independent voters also gave the Ministers a failing grade.

VIP & independent voters give failing grade on post Hurricanes performance

On the question of Government performance on the post hurricanes recovery, only NDP supporters gave the current government a pass with 6.0 out of 10 whereas independent and VIP voters gave them a failing grade. VIP voters gave them a 3.4 and independents gave them a 4.6 rating.

Mr Wickham, through his CADRES, released two previous polls within the past days. The first one shows that voters believe the country is moving in the wrong direction and the second show a dead heat for preferred leadership between Dr Smith and Opposition Leader Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1).

CADRES said it polled 700 participants from the VI.

Hurricane season around the corner: until we send those suspected of wrong doing off to the ghut, it is pointless with certain levels of conversation because where is taking us or what is dong for us: let’s take some poles and get a better understanding as to how many of our people still homeless or roofless from September 2017......SOSDD(same old $hit; different days like a broken record) let be more positive; we all agree come 2019 there will a shift !!!

Hope the pole was a free one cause everybody know that you can't pole 700 people out of 30,000 and think that you did justice with regards to coming to a mathematical conclusion on what the average person is thinking. The real pole next year so don't get too excited yet.

along with Cambridge Analytica can dtermine the outcome of any election by playing on the minds of the masses. They need to stop drilling money out of govt and parties to enrich themselves for doing nothing then guess what when the verdict goes the opposite direction they appear to give reasons or conclusion for such. Let the voters and God do their works. It is no wonder for so much corruption bribing sell and buy of votes etc. There is a need to stop these money hawks now.

None of them will be elected again they should be shame they wasted the public money..Myrun built a wall to drown the children,no weep holes for the water to drain out and he try to build a paper school and Irma Rip it up .The buildings Ira Smith design in the 90s still standing and the 2017 building is gone waste of money that's a big example of his failure..He can lead some fools but not me..

It is now clear who commissioned this report. They got what they paid for. Nothing new here but the same old attempt by Wall-wyn to try to manipulate people's mind.

Is this the same report that the opposition leader embraced when it favored him as a good replacement to Premier Smith? Hmmm it's only good when it is a benefit to one set but not the other.

I hope they came to the sister islands. Most Bajans also think Tortola is the entire BVI. Sister Islands holding all the aces next election. They better use them wisely

Unfortunately performing exceptionally well does not afford you the Premiership Hon Walwyn. You have to be with the party from inception to be considered. Watch how Hon Pickering just sail een easy!

I believe what the survey says. Pickering is hiding or dreaming impossible dreams (Brandy wine Beach, Green Houses, and yes, I recall he was the start of the expanded airport.
Skelton-Cline wants rich to give to the hospital. I do not believe in that, but if so why does he not ask his fellow Ministaers?? Why does he not ask members of the Millionairs Club he knows who they are and can ask direct ,not in a general pleae which always gets funds from folks too poor to give.
Premier Smith wants to restore trust!!! HaHaHa ha Everyone knows it takes twice as long to be trusted than it does to lose trust and for over 7 years you have been losing it. No one will believe you.
