ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Accused murderer Trinidadian John Emmanuel, aka Brent Dawn Emmanuel and Small Brent, is no longer in the Virgin Islands (VI), Acting Commissioner of Police (ACoP) Jacqueline E. Vanterpool has confirmed.

‘Small Brent’ is wanted for the murder of 32-year-old Nyron A. Erickson on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

During a police press conference today, Monday, June 30, 2025, Acting CoP Vanterpool said, "I can confirm based on our investigations that that person is no longer within the jurisdiction and has left."

RVIPF asked the public for assistance in locating Small Brent

In May 2025, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Kenrick Davis confirmed that Small Brent was still at large and believed to still be in the VI.

He also called on members of the public to assist the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) with any information about Small Brent’s whereabouts.

Erickson, a popular businessman, was shot to death in what was described as a drive-by shooting in West End, Tortola, with an automatic assault rifle.

He was laid to rest earlier this month on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Always tricky to prove a negative. A guy like that would prob not leave a paper track of his movements, so really no way to know where he is. Easy enough to spirit away but no way to prove it, unless they’re not sharing basis of their allegation.

Did he call back and tell them that's he's no longer here?

@ Interesting. I agree. I believe whoever put the HIT on Nyron is hiding him until things cool down, because they knew there would be an ALL-POINTS-BULLETIN out looking for him. They paid him well and are just waiting for the right time to slip him out or kill him themselves to keep him from talking. Carnival, or anything where there will be a crowd or a lot of boats on the water. RVIP needs to keep a lookout for him because there was no indication that he had left the territory.

I have always found it strange that when a murderer/drug trafficker is born in the BVI he is referred to as a popular or successful businessman.

It's because it is a lucrative business to be in if you can stay alive. The $7.25 an hour the rest of us getting from tomorrow can't compete with it.

Could tell you that. Why would he stick around so long lol guess she had to say something. Young men remember you might get fast money, but you just might end up being worm food before you reach 30 yrs old.

The police dropped the dam ball o this. Over 200 police on the force. That man should have been caught right here. laziness and dedication is something real in the police force. i will just rest this here.

If you were aware of his precise location, why didn’t you inform the authorities? The police had already identified the murderer and alerted the public for help. If they had known his exact whereabouts, don’t you believe he could have been apprehended? Individuals like you are the reason the BVI progresses slowly and often regresses.

Of course he is no longer in the BVI. He did the green light on the contract he was contracted to carry out and slip right back out of the BVI while everyone was in a frenzy over West Bank being green lit until the next contract comes up. I can only tell you this much much, someone from right here on BVI soil call in and paid big bucks for the green lighting of West Bank. When Bob Hodge was green lit in his yard, word was they will never know who the person was that call the hit. Same as the hit on the lawyer in SCB and the hit on West Bank, they also say they will never know who the person is that call the hit.

Citizens of the B.V.I don't be to hard badmouthing the RVIPF. It did have many successes in criminals solving cases, including murders. However how much, neither the RVIPF or we the B.V.I public, except, probably a few, know the fact where "small Brent is, whether it is here or there, but genuine efforts were made to apprehend him, in my opinion.

Believe that there are still bigger fish (criminals) to be caught. Some of them may regularly dress in suit, and neck ties in regularly business places as, as far as we think, respectful business owners or employees in managerial positions, or probably posing as Clergy. This I hope we do know, that various crimes are fastly rising in the B.V.I unabated. Because of this trend, great togetherness efforts is needed by our partly passive community members, now, in order to help curb its negative projectory.
So whether another "small brent", medium size bent, or big brent, and actions taken without unified for the restoration of a less threatened of deadly crimes in the B.V.I, will be insufficient at best.
