‘May this Virgin Islands Day inspire pride & a renewed sense of purpose’- Premier

Formerly Territory Day, it was renamed to Virgin Islands Day in December 2020.
Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), in his message to the people, said today is more than a holiday. He said it is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on our shared history, our rich culture, and the resilient spirit that defines us as a people.
“Virgin Islands Day is more than a holiday; it is a powerful reminder of our journey- our struggles, our triumphs, and the enduring spirit that has carried us through generations. Our history is marked by resilience in the face of adversity, resourcefulness, and a collective hope that has shaped who we are today. It is a day to reflect on our cultural expressions, our values, and the unique character that makes the Virgin Islands truly special,” Premier Wheatley stated.
Embrace VI culture- Premier
The Leader of Government Business encouraged everyone to embrace the Virgin Islands’ culture through music, dance, storytelling, and community activities, and to remember the importance of preserving “what makes us Virgin Islanders”.
“May this Virgin Islands Day inspire pride, renewal, and a renewed sense of purpose in all of us. May God continue to bless our Virgin Islands and its resilient people.
