ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- It was the talk of the town last month when former legislator and prominent businessman Mr Mark H. Vanperopool had his high-end Range Rover wrapped in the colours of the National Democratic Party (NDP).

On the wrapping, he announced he was an At–Large candidate with the same NDP.

Mr Vanterpool contested the Chairmanship of the NDP last weekend and got a headshot when he was defeated by Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8) in a landslide vote, 65 to Mr Vanterpool’s 29.

It is unclear whether Mr Vanterpool will remain with the NDP, will run At-Large or is now considering a Fourth District run.

However, word reaching our news centre is that the wrapping has been removed. It is unclear if it was only placed on the SUV pending the end of the NDP internal party election.

Mr Vanterpool told many friends and supporters that he came back to head a political party and to become the Premier of the Virgin Islands.

At the time of publication, efforts to get a comment from Mr Vanterpool were unsuccessful.
