CHRISTIANSTED, St Croix, USVI - A man and two minors were arrested on Friday following a traffic stop by Officers of the Special Operations Bureau in the Peter’s Rest area, close to the Cool Out Bar and Restaurant, according to the VIPD.

The vehicle, a gray Acura TSX, was pulled over due to the absence of a front license plate and an expired registration sticker visible on the front windshield.

During the stop, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of several illegal items. Authorities found a high-powered assault rifle equipped with a 60 rounds capacity drum magazine and a Glock 42 .380 Caliber handgun with an extended magazine.

Additionally, two more .380 caliber magazines, two ski masks, and gloves were retrieved from inside the vehicle.

The occupants of the car, 18-year-old Naleem Brown and two male minors were arrested and charged with carrying of a firearm openly or concealed, and possession or sale of ammunition.

Following the arrest, bail for Brown was set at $50,000, and Brown is expected to face his advice of rights hearing today.
