ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- In a few days, a low pressure area could form in the central portion of the Tropical Atlantic, the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has reported.
“From then, environmental conditions generally look favourable for a slow development of this system from this weekend to early next week as it moves west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph,” DDM stated on its Facebook page on August 27, 2024.
As of today, August 28, 2024, the National Hurricane Centre is giving the probability of formation in 48 hours as close to 0 percent and 20 percent for 7 days.
