ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Governor of the Virgin Islands, Mr Daniel Pruce, has warned criminals that they cannot hide from law enforcement, promising they will be found and dealt with under the law.

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Mr Nice Guy Superstore in Manuel Reef fell victim to armed robbery. On Sunday, October 11, 2026, armed robbers descended upon the RiteWay Food Markets branch in Road Reef.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) reported on Monday, October 12, 2026, that it was investigating three recent armed robberies at businesses across Tortola between September and October 2026.

It is unknown whether these robberies are connected.

'You will be brought to justice'

Governor Pruce visited the businesses recently robbed by armed thieves on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, together with Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline E. Vanterpool.

Speaking directly to the perpetrators in a video posted to his office’s Facebook Page following the visit, he said, “The law enforcement agencies in this Territory will find you, and when you are found, you will be brought to justice.”

Mr Pruce also appealed to anyone with information that may be useful to police to come forward. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9593.

“If you know something, please do share it.”

NSC to convene today

Mr Pruce expressed being grateful to the business owners for sharing details of what occurred during the robberies with him and Ms Vanterpool.

“I should say what I’ve heard is completely horrifying and I pay tribute to the people who are the innocent victims in these awful criminal acts; they showed great resilience, great composure, and I wish them the very best as they recover from what were clearly very traumatising ordeals.”

Mr Pruce committed to taking a very active interest in these cases.

“We will discuss them further in the National Security Council, which I’ve convened for tomorrow [Wednesday, October 14, 2026]”.
