ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The annual Rotary Club of Road Town Kiddies Fiesta makes its return next weekend.

The Kiddies Fiesta was launched this morning, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, by the club during a press conference. The Kiddies Fiesta will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Enid Scatliffe Primary School playground.

Also making a return after a short hiatus is the Kiddies Fiesta Parade on the morning of July 26, from 9:00 A.M., under the theme ‘Under the BVI Sea’. Registration for the parade is free for the first 100 entrants. The parade will feature multiple sections, each featuring different sea animals, such as sharks, lobsters, and turtles.

Registration forms are being circulated, and interested persons can sign up using the QR Code on the flyers.

30-year-old event

The Kiddies Fiesta has been hosted by the Rotary Club of Road Town since 1994.

“It’s one of the club’s signature projects, exemplifying our focus on youth and families. The event, which kicks off the August Emancipation season, provides family-friendly fun,” said the club’s Public Image Chair, Roy E. Barry.

He added that through the Kiddies Fiesta, the club demonstrates its dedication to community service and youth engagement.

“Despite challenges, such as Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and the COVID period, the club continues to host the Kiddies Fiesta, demonstrating our commitment to its continuation and success.”

A fundraiser for the club

The Kiddies Fiesta, according to the President of the Rotary Club of Road Town, Dr June M. Samuel, is also a fundraiser for the club.

The Rotary Club of Road Town is part of District 7020, whose theme is “Recognise Needs and Transform Lives’.

Dr Samuel explained that the club is carrying out the Rotary Year theme in the community through its service projects and activities.

“It’s a fun event, it’s catered to children of all ages and for us, it is a fundraiser, and through the funds raised with this Kiddies Fiesta, we use that to carry out our year of community projects.”

Projects undertaken by the Rotary Club of Road Town, she explained, are diversified and try to meet the various needs within the community.

“[We] try to impact as many persons as we can.”

We need the community’s ‘full support’

Meanwhile, Service Project’s Chair Gavin Dooley said the Rotary Club of Road Town Kiddies Fiesta will have entertainment for everyone.

“We have all kinds of games, rides, activities, food, everything that you can think of…local entertainment from different performers, DJs. It really is a fun time.”

He added that the Kiddies Fiesta is a way of creating the opportunity for the children to have a “good time” in the community.

“We need the full support of the community, come out, bring your children to have a good time. Over the years, we really had a good turnout, and it’s been a good success.”
