ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Children, children at heart and parents alike would be relieved to know that entry to Coney Island at Irene Penn-Festiville is absolutely free.

This was confirmed by Chairman of the Virgin Islands Festival and Fairs Committee (VIF&FC) Dirk L. Walters in a Facebook post today, Friday, August 4, 2023.

Mr Walters clarified that persons would be able to access the Coney Island without going through the Festival Village.

‘Bring out the entire family’- Walters

“Please note that from this evening, entrance to the Coney Island is accessible via the Eastern entrance of the Festival Grounds, next to the Sakal Building only. You DO NOT have to worry if it's a paid night for the village Entertainment or not.

“It is totally Free Entry to Coney Island every day. All rides are $5.00,” Mr Walters said, as he encouraged persons to bring out the entire family and enjoy Coney Island as well as enjoy the offering of the various vendors.

Mr Walters emphasised that the entrance to the Festival Village itself will be at the main gate on the Western end of the Festival Grounds, next to H.M Customs, and directly across from Supa Value.

This all about Emancipation and if its all about our freedom it should be of celebrating it, honoring our ancestors who fought on a everyday base to be FREE yet these greedy people see a way to obtain money and implemented it like savages with these ridiculous prices, so there is no giving back at all by the government? They have NO respect to what is Emancipation is.
