I wouldn’t want VI’s ‘psycho’ police to have guns– Cindy Rosan
Rosan's comments come on the heels of the gunning down of 25-year-old Julio Rivera on Purcell Estate on November 6, 2023, in a parking lot along DeCastro Street. It is the 6th shooting death for 2023 in the VI.
No guns for police - Cindy Rosan
According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), Mr Rivera was found with “multiple gunshot wounds about his body in the main parking lot on Wickham’s Cay I.”
Speaking on gun violence in the territory during this morning’s November 7, 2023, edition of ‘Da Morning Braff’ radio show, Rosan said despite the crime, she does not want the police to carry guns.
“‘I’m going to be apolitical, just based on how the police handle us, some of them, personally I wouldn’t want them to have guns,” she said.
“Some of them their attitudes and their egos and their behaviors need to be in check… some of them are mental psychos that I won’t want to see have a gun. I’m telling you straight up,” she added.
Criminals carry guns & police should too- Caller
Rosan said the same way the gun violence bothers her, it is not normal to see the VI reach a place where officers are walking around with guns.
“I don’t know if we are at a place where that’s what I want to see daily… but if that’s what we have to do to get it under control,” she said she is just not sure.
Meanwhile, one caller adding to the conversation urged the host to get comfortable with the idea that criminals carry guns and the police should also.
The caller argued that police would not shoot at persons randomly, and stressed that with changing times, armed police can help bring crime under control.

Oh my Lord have mercy on your people. Look who is calling the police "psycho " . It looks like Fire calling Yelo crazy. She is fitting very well in the above categories.
her public declaration that some of the VI policemen are " mental psychos" gives indication that she is acquainted with "some of them" so far, intimately and personally. Shameless hussy!
I think that John Q Public would agree that psycho mental and or otherwise psycho,if there is such thing, aptly describes dkme of her conditions..
Is no wonder nobody respects d laws and by extension the officers
Tired see them officers get abused cuss up and threatened
Give them guns and body cameras
She would have to prove which officers of RVIP is physco
Ok
Bars bellying up on a bar stool with police and that sort. For certain I wont recognize they are police if they are not in uniform. Another thing is that they are from UK and updeislun so our paths would rarely cross socially. Just a lil taken back that Cindy so familiar with them and their personality even though claiming and compaining that they are rarely seen in public places but come to think of it she too is updeislun stock. One set ah people with like behaviour in many ways which is as it should be. So she and them psycho together. She must know.
Ms. Rosan, you're so on point with this one!
You know, I have seen Tola cops at work for many years, and in many cases, it's been a heavy handed approach, for simple, minor, and petty offenses.
And I'm talking about a consistent heavy handed approach.
We need caring, understanding, but knowledgeable about the law, kind of officers, with the right training, handling the use of firearms.
And, I'm not sure, if most of these officers, fit those descriptives..
..Mental evaluations, and it's continuity, must be a part of the training, before the use of firearms, can be placed in officers hands. There should be no way around this!
