‘I am not anti-police… I come from a family of police officers’- Willock
Mr Willock appeared on 'Da Morning Braff' radio show on Tola Radio 100.5 FM hosted by Rosan on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Willock, in his conversation with Rosan, had accused the Police Commissioner Mark Collins of being caught in lies over a bar hopping scandal. This resulted in Rosan telling the former Speaker that the news website has an agenda against the police.
She added that the website also has an agenda against the UK and the Governor, “I mean, you could see there is an agenda… reading, I feel that there is something in there that irritates, whether it’s the journalist, the owners or whoever of VINO,” she said.
No agenda from VINO - Willock
According to the former Speaker; however, those claims are far from the truth. “I read VINO often and I don’t see any special agenda against everyone… VINO do stories on local people, regional, international, they do stories on you,” he said.
Willock said what is on VINO is also carried on other news websites in the VI and added that there is a script to target VINO, that the website has an anti-police and government agenda, “I have nothing against the police. I come from a family of police officers, law enforcement… so I am not anti-police,” he said.
Willock recalled the tragedy of losing his brother, a police officer, when he was in secondary school and shared that he has other members of his family who are police officers.
VINO unbiased & up-to-date - Caller
One caller to the show, adding their voice to the conversation, stated that VINO remains one of the most unbiased and up-to-date news websites in the VI.
“They report it as it is, their platform is very easy to read and whenever you want good and accurate news you can just go on VINO and there it is,” the caller related.

Pro police when he is high up on their target list.
That being said, the Governor's portfolio is mess. Prison, police, & civil service. He and Archer need to get it together.
And yes, it is recorded that he had a brother who was a police officer who died whilst a serving member of the RVIPF. In addition, his stepfather Ronald Tobin was a highly decorated and respected member of the RVIPF.
But I agree with him that Commissioner Mark Collins is telling too much lies including the one about the reason for asking the senior
officers destroy the evidence.
People there is sufficient evidence to prove that he is telling lies and the Governor and the Police Service Commission is refusing to do anything about it. Just read the letter which was written by the concern citizen. I read it.
Even you the people. You all keep asking for his resignation and now you have prove you all refuse to do anything about.
