HLSCC warns of fraudulent online course offers
“We wish to alert the public about fraudulent online offers circulating with photos of HLSCC employees, falsely advertising free courses through an entity called "H-Salary."
“These posts, especially prevalent on Facebook and other social media sites, are not legitimate,” HLSCC alerted on its Facebook page today, October 29, 2024.
Protect your ‘banking & personal information’- HLSCC
Photos of HLSCC’s staff used to promote the fraudulent course offers include that of its President Dr Richard W. Georges.
“Their sole aim is to deceptively gather your banking and personal information.
“Please be vigilant and avoid engaging with these posts or providing any personal information. Remember, genuine educational institutions or course providers will never request sensitive financial information in exchange for free courses,” HLSCC stated.
The college said if persons come across such offers, they should not hesitate to report them to the platform. “Protect your information and stay safe online,” HLSCC stated.
