BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- There has yet been another gun-related incident at a bar in the Virgin Islands. This time it was at a bar in Baughers Bay on Tuesday night, October 7, 2025.

According to reports reaching our News Centre, it was around 11:30 PM when at least four heavily armed masked men approached patrons outside the bar.

Several shots were reportedly fired; however, no one was injured.

It is unclear if anything was taken by the gunmen.

Police are said to be investigating.

Second attack on a bar by gunmen within a week

It was only on Saturday, October 4, 2025, that gunmen entered a popular bar in the vicinity of Tortola Pier Park in Road Town, and robbed its patrons.

One patron was shot and is still hospitalised.

The attack on the bar last night comes as the discussion intensifies about whether businesses persons should be allowed to carry licenced firearms.

@ BVIBUZZ: adiquate defence against gun violence is not stupidness. Sooner than you think the same will spread to other businesses: namely supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, and others that I don't want to mention in this comment

The sad reality has come home to us B.V.I people, that our RVIPF alone is insufficiently not prepared to deal with the rising spike of guns related violence presently happening in this British Overseas Territory.
We either will need to give permition to some responsively business owners fire arms to help defend their lives and business interest or they, the business owners, help to foot the cost of armed RVIPF officers present especially at night.
If at this time this cannot be done, then a surficient number of British arm guards from the UK should be considered in my opinion by Governoz, Daniel Pruce, if this trend continues happening at this spiking pace in the B.V.I, lately.

However, I am not surprised because know that among people everywhere in this world when righteousness has been spurned wickedness taked over, even at a faster pace as expected.

Need to hold a party somewhere with armed guards waiting for their little backsides. Show no mercy and pump them with a taste of their own medicine.
Never thought our precious country would come to this. It has to stop. People start talking. If you know who they are turn them in because you could be saving their lives.
Also, you or a family member could be at an event when they strike and your family could be the one to lose their life. Don’t wait for that to happen. Let’s get together as a strong community and wipe out this crime spree. We have had enough.
We need cameras all over the island. Every corner they turn find them on camera. If this is what it takes, do it!
ALSO, WHY ARE THERE SO MANY VEHICLES OUT HERE WITH DARK TINT ON THE WINDOWS BOTH PRIVATE AND RENTALS. We have to stop being so slack with the laws. Enforce them!! Stop being a lawless society!!

That might help , start having police in civilian clothes in the parking lot monitoring the supermarkets and other business places most of which has surveillance video cameras and they can work together whenever a robbery is in progress so whe those wannabe gansters done put down the robbery and make their getaway , don't confront them so as not to create a shootout there but follow them with other police units informed and when every police unit is in position and no civilian is at risk then they can make their move on these wannabe bad boyz gansters ( the other thing or problem is if they have informers within the police force

How ironic that this happens the same day that "top cop Vanterpool" says that giving business owners a licence to own a firearm should be a "last resort." For the criminals who don't care about strict gun laws, it looks like they don't care about whether gun licenses are a last resort for law-abiding people, because they're a first resort for them.

This vague report is difficult to believe without some FACTS!!!!

In future please name the bar in BB, it's exact location and the time span of the crime that began at 1130pm but apparently never ended!!

Also definitely no gun permits for business owners in the BVI.

Police management is a large part of the problem over 300 police and things are much much worse than when we had just 100. Police management is the difference..They weren't this large amt of police sitting i offices crom 830 to 430 off on weekends...We had plain clothes officers on night shift, mingling in Bars, playing Dominoes with the Guys getting intel...Management is the problem. Policing failing.
