LONDON, UK- A new Minister for Overseas Territories has been appointed in the Rishi Sunak-led United Kingdom (UK) Government.

Frank Zacharias Robin Goldsmith, referred to as The Rt Hon Lord Goldsmith MP, has been appointed as Minister of State for Overseas Territories, Commonwealth, Energy, Climate and Environment.

This information was confirmed by the Governor’s Office in the [British] Virgin Islands today, November 2, 2022.

Lord Goldsmith succeeds the Rt Hon Jesse Norman MP as Minister for Overseas Territories, who has been appointed as a Minister in the Department for Transport.

Norman was transferred to another Ministry on the eve of a visit to the Virgin Islands.

One of the big issues for Lord Goldsmith would be the controversial Order in Council instituted by the now ousted former Prime Minister Mary Elizabeth Truss to potentially suspend the VI’s constitution.

The VI has been receiving regional and international support as it seeks to have the Order in Council removed.

Not sure if Goldsmith should be our focus. I am more interested in Mr. Sunak as the Prime Minister. Listened to a message white Tori supporter say that because Sunak is of Indian descent he is not British enough. In other words he is not white enough! I hope he is not British enough but HUMAN enough to know that all humans are created equal. I am praying he will do the right thing for the OTs. Let’s keep praying BVI, God will see us through this.

Strupes. Time for the BVI to join the USVI. A minister for overseas territories that none of the overseas territories voted for.
