ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) will be adding four new law enforcement vehicles to their police fleet through a direct investment from the Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) administration.

The Premier speaking in a release said he is pleased that the Government was able to make the necessary purchase, to further enhance the capabilities of the local police force to carry out its law enforcement responsibilities.

“The arrival of the four new vehicles is timely, as the Territory continues to prepare for the reopening of the borders in the Virgin Islands on December 1, 2020,” Premier Fahie said.

Hon Fahie continued, “As a Government, we will continue to ensure that financial allocations are made to provide the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), HM Customs and Immigration Department with the resources needed to perform in managing crime in our Territory.”

Law enforcement integral to COVID-19 management

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, local law enforcement have played a key role in policing the streets and protecting the borders through a joint task force.

“I thank the men and women of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Her Majesty Customs and the Immigration Department for all the work they do to keep us all safe,” Hon Fahie added.

The Fahie administration further noted that it will continue to ensure that financing is allocated in the annual budget for Her Majesty’s Customs, Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Immigration Department, Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service Department, and Her Majesty’s Prison to aid the organizations in carrying out their mandate.

Hey mr governor please increase the police force with another 150 police officers. Bring the force up to about 400 to 420. Good training and then open about three more police stations . Rent a house in the baughers bay area to house police. Put a station on the ridge road between fahie hill and Bellevue and one between carrot bay and long bay. Your west end and cane garden bay stations need to have special trained officers especially in tactical training. The men are getting desperate on the streets and the police must be prepared. Attempts are being made to curtail the movement of drugs on our seas especially with the uk ship in our waters and not been able to be seen. This is a real hut head for the bastards. The killing is going to continue mark my words. Some people was given a bad deal . My concern is some innocent people are going to get in the cross fire sad but its the reality. And mr commissioner your east end police station need an immediate overhaul. Simply mr governor your police stations are far from ready to deal with what i forsee to happen. Do not make the trouble makers get the upper hand. I would tell you mr governor i was barn right ya. I know what i am saying i grow up wid them. Almost everyone is the recipient of or benefit in some way. Every single one of them. Mr commissioner your men need yo to be out and about. They cannot sit in an office and solve the criminal activities that happening on the streets. One last point please offer some rewards for these latest assassination. A substantial amount not no 10 and 20 thousand cannot work. I would say 150 thousand and up so when one of the foreigners give info that leads to conviction they can then return to there country and continue building on what they have.
