Former legislator Earl Fraser made to pay over $1500
This was revealed on Friday July 24, 2015 at the Magistrate's Court at John’s Hole where Fraser, himself a former legislator, appeared.
According to Principal Magistrate Tamia N. Richards, failure to pay the fine and the compensation meant he would have been taken to Her Majesty’s Prison at Balsam Ghut.
The accident resulted in damage to another road user’s vehicle and hence the compensatory damages in the amount of $1,275. Further particulars of the accident were not revealed in court.
According to the Magistrate, failure to pay the fine of $250 meant that Fraser could spend 30 days in prison.
Further, failure to pay the compensation by August 24, 2015 could result in him being slapped with a two-month jail sentence, the Magistrate disclosed.
