CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI - Senator Marvin A. Blyden was admitted to the Schneider Regional Medical Center on Friday morning, June 9, 2023, following a suspected case of food poisoning, according to a statement from Mr. Blyden's statement.

The senator took the precautionary measure of checking himself into the hospital after experiencing symptoms related to foodborne illness.

As of Friday afternoon, Blyden was undergoing various medical tests and is under observation by the hospital's medical team, according to the statement. Family members and members of his staff have confirmed that he is currently resting comfortably and is in stable condition.

Despite the sudden health scare, the senator remains optimistic about his condition and expects to return to his legislative duties next week. 

In the wake of the news about Blyden's hospitalization, the senator and his family have received messages of concern and well-wishes from constituents.

They have expressed their gratitude for the support, stating, "We are thankful to all who have voiced their concern for Senator Blyden's well-being. Your continued support and prayers are appreciated."
