Gov Bryan urged to strike back VI with reciprocal charter licensing fees
CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI- US Virgin Islands Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr is being pressed by the Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association (VIPCA) to implement reciprocal licensing fees for Virgin Islands-based vessels operating in USVI waters following the VI’s implementation of a new fee structure that will see the USVI based charters paying a significant increase.

UPDATE: VI & USVI agree to ‘crunch the numbers’ again on charter fee hike
PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI- Following what was described as “intense” negotiations between the Virgin Islands and the US Virgin Islands regarding charter fees increase for USVI-based boaters today, March 7, 2025, both parties have agreed to go back and “crunch the numbers” and the VI has pledged to hold off on the amendments to the Commercial Recreational Vessels Licensing Act until an agreement on a fair increase is met.
