VI charter fees harming USVI jobs & economy- Federal Trade Report
WASHINGTON, DC, USA- The Sixteenth Report to Congress on the Operation of the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act has reported that the Virgin Islands’ (VI) charter fees are “significantly affecting” the marine tourism industry in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), less than a year after coming into effect.
'We will not be bullied'- Premier Wheatley to USVI Gov't
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has said the Virgin Islands will not be bullied by the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), as proposed increases to charter licenses fees form part of amendments to the Commercial Recreational Vessels Licensing Act.
Marine industry gets 50% reduction of licensing fees!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- In what has been described as a ‘stimulus' for the marine industry has been approved for a 50 per cent reduction of licensing fees because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
