Hon. Skelton: Fraser ran away from KATS “like hot potato”
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon. Ronnie Skelton found it ironic that one of his colleagues in the House of Assembly (HOA) was dishing out advice on the BVI Water Sports programme when at one time he claimed the district representative “was running away from it [KATS sailing programme) like a hot potato”.
HOA did not receive a verbatim transcript within last five years
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - During the 2012 Standing Finance Committee (SFC), a body appointed by the House of Assembly (HOA) to examine the draft budget estimates for this year, it was brought to light that the HOA, the highest law making body of the Virgin Islands, has not received verbatim transcript within the last five years from the Court Reporting Unit.
Nat’l Health Insurance to cost Gov’t $38M annually – Hon. Skelton
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The National Health Insurance System (NHIS), which will allow more residents in the Virgin Islands wider access to health care, is moving along smoothly and could be implemented within the next 12 months with Government expected to fork up some $38M on an annual basis to subsidize the scheme.
Gov’t wants all involved in natural resources management
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The National Parks Trust Concert Series over the weekend attracted a number of persons at the Queen Elizabeth II Park including a number of government officials including Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Hon. Dr. Kedrick Pickering, who said Government wants all to be involved in natural resources management and maintenance.
