Now, this economics layman was never in favour of Brexit. He enjoys and values his status as a Virgin Islands Citizen, British Citizen, and a Citizen of Europe. He doesn’t fancy having to apply for a visa to visit Paris and Vienna, add Rome and Barcelona, which he intends to do some day. He would never have had to apply for a visa before Brexit: after Brexit he might just have to.

There is a lesson for these Virgin Isles, and for countries striving for social and economic prosperity in the proceeding narrative. It states that national success is not derived through the cynical adoption of populist xenophobia, austerity, and war mongering.
Austerity & Theresa M. May’s last dance!

Theresa M. May gambled and lost on June 8, 2017. This, despite her Conservative party winning the most seats in Westminster. May lost the expectations game. She called the general Election to strengthen her parliamentary majority. She said that she needed to gain a stronger majority to strengthen her position in upcoming Brexit negotiations. Instead, May saw lost seats. Theresa M. May’s Conservative Party will have to form a coalition government. Her move has backfired terribly.
