2 shot, 1 dead in first 2017 homicide on St Croix

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI — On the day St Croix, US Virgin Islands (USVI) was set to leave behind the month of January without a single homicide for 2017, two men were shot near Lorraine Village last night, January 31, 2017 leaving one dead and the other injured, [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) Commissioner Delroy Richards confirmed to The Consortium last night.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI — A second person has been killed in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands in 2017 through gun violence, VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced Wednesday January 4, 2017. The homicide follows another shooting death that occurred on January 1.
