We only can comment on what you all show us, so take some responsibility. If the ones that are coming here keep violating, then what must locals think? Do you think pointing out our ills justifies your behavior?? Only Dominicans and Vincentians have the power to change the view people have of them here in the BVI or anywhere else.

This is definitely attempted murder. The use of a machete is solely to chop, kill, and destroy. Put his sorry behind under the prison. He deserves the worst beatings in prison too. Cutting someone's skin is the worst thing you can do to a person, other than setting them on fire. He needs to feel the same pain he inflicted on them.

He is not a bad person but what ever lead him to do this have to be bad. i never see this man lose his cool but im not saying what he did was right but it have to have more to this story for him to do something like that towards his family who i know he loves.

Do you realise that often there's a difference between the person you see in public and the person at home? I'm not saying that it's necessarily so in this case, but a lot of abusers are "very nice" to the people who don't live with them.

This is what I am talking about. I bet you from st. vincent to. How can anyone justify violence? Culturally, this is not acceptable here. Go back home with that behavior and that rationale about something had to drive him to it. Yes, virgin islanders have their issues, in their own homes; we will sort that out. We do not need to import trouble.
    • @listen (23/09/2022, 17:12) Like (15) Dislike (0) Reply
There is no excuse for that type of behavior, ever! Whether a good person otherwise. Men don’t have respect for women and feel they can ill-treat them whenever and however they want. It has to stop!!
He needs to be severely dealt with. What would we be saying if he had actually killed one or both of them?

Do you REALLY think this is the first time this man has put his hands on this woman? Lol. Domestic violence abusers are good at selling everyone the 'I am a good guy'. They are calculative and manipulative. They are all about controlling every aspect of their partners life. Where they work, what they wear, who their friends are, etc. Trust me. There is a monster under that cool guy exterior. Sometimes fear keeps the woman there, especially if he has broken her down emotionally to think that she can't do it without him. He picked up that machete because he felt he was losing control of her. And if she is not careful he will begin to tell her it was her fault for not listening. How many of us call the cops or knock on the door when we hear a domestic violence dispute next door? Not many of us do. My God some landlords live in the building and don't intervene. The one neighbour who does intervene gets labelled as being nosy, and a trouble maker. When I was a child the men in the village were the ones who would deal with a man who thought it best to beat his wife. From the pastor to the school teacher.....now not even the law seems to have an affect.

Some men are good pretenders in the public and devils in the home. There is no justification to use a machete on either his wife or her child. Use the same machete on his @$$ let us see how he likes it.

No one expects anyone to be holy. We expect that guests to these shores to BEHAVE. The man chopped an innocent child!! Regardless of what WE have going on here as locals there is no justification for that. While how some of those gunned down in the streets was cruel and wrong, all were not innocent. Karma is a bad mama!! Now you tell me what that child did to him to deserve to be scarred like that? Not to memtion the emotional scars that will follow FOREVER. Let me tell you...you never get rid of the emotional scars. Sleeping is a nightmare. Being alone is a nightmare. You always are looking over your back, scared out of your mind. All people are asking for is that he be sent home. Back to the place that is responsible for who he is. If it were your child, and the woman your sister, or mother, would you think differently???

You all here bashing and judging who are you to judge?
Yes you may work with him see that side of him but who are you to judge that its not his first offense? Who are you to judge? Only God the family and the man know what was taking place before and during everything.. So all who here being judgemental God alone knows who the rightful victim is.. We keep pointing fingers jamaican, Vincentian, trinidadian, dominician, tolan. we are from different nation but we all have our ways who use machete who use guns who use poison. None of us is better than the other.. So who are we to point fingers?
The virgin islanders here bashing other nation when they them self don't have mercy on their own.. You think gunning down ur enemy any different than using a machete or drinking poison. All is the same sin but just mean according to justice They carry different time span in jail.
We are so quick to judge one another. But the ones judging are no different..
No united so what u expect will happen.. Ppl will forever perish..
So we here judging each other ,pointing fingers when ur nations is no different than any other nation. We all have killers( but they kill In different ways) we all have thieves, robbers, rapers, drug Lords u name it we are no different from each other..

You are very right, but YOU are missing the point. In a time like this when expats have to fight for relevancy in THIS country, we DO NOT need any negative publicity. The life of an expat in the BVI is a HARD one, and the few of us that go to work(if we lucky to have a job), pay our taxes, pay our NHI, look after our children and follow the laws regardless of how we may feel about them, ARE TIRED of our the rest of you doing whatever, whenever you want! This makes ALL of us expats look bad. It also makes it hard for others who may want the chance to come and make a life here. Some expats are an embarassment to their nation. From the way they dress on the streets in the BVI, to their conduct. I dont care what the tolians are doing! We expats used to have a higher standard of self and life and we have lost it. Some of us our parents would be ashamed because they did not raise us like this. STOP pointing to what the tolians doing, you know better, then you do better. Two left shoes can not carry you. If tolians misbehave they will STILL be here. If an expat misbehave they face deportation. That is years of slaving in a system that does not favor you down the drain. What legacy is that for us? EXPATS STOP IT!

I am sick of these cases popping up every now and then. These people are polluting our culture and driving up our crimes rates. Its time the government put their foot down on ALL of them. Let them take their nastiness back to their homeland. As a guest in another man's land you should know how to behave. We have so much going on in the country right now that needs immediate attention, and this fool thought it best to chop up his family. Don't waste our tax money feeding his a$$ in jail, use it to fix a pothole, and SEND HIM HOME!!
