Dakarai L. Wheatley-Adams & K’Meeya A. Chung crowned Mr & Miss HLSCC 2025

PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- Mr Dakarai L. Wheatley-Adams and Miss K’Meeya A. Chung have won the titles of Mr & Miss H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC), respectively.

The 2025 Mr & Miss HLSCC Pageant was held last night, Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium under the theme ‘The Dream of a Visionary’.

Mr Shimie Peters was the other male contestant, while Miss Shakira P. Hendrickson and Miss Jmya M.I. Mark were the other female contestants.

Sunday’s pageant saw the five contestants compete in five rounds: Introduction and Business Wear, Ambassadorial Presentation, Talent, Evening Wear and Question and Answer. 

The Personal Interview round was conducted on Friday, May 30, 2025. 

The public decided Mr and Miss Popularity via Facebook voting. 

Winnings

Mr HLSCC Dakarai L. Wheatley-Adams and Miss HLSCC K’Meeya A. Chung will receive full scholarships for the continuation of their studies as part of their winnings. 

They were also crowned with a custom-designed crown, and received a sash and a sceptre. 

The new Mr & Miss HLSCC will serve as ambassadors for the institution, in addition to benefiting from professional training in leadership development, public speaking, and media engagement.

The HLSCC is this year celebrating its 35th anniversary.

    Leadership at the college is obviously subpar. As a matter of fact, I dare to say nonexistent.
    This is the second show I've attended since returning home and PRESIDENT NOR ANY OF THE VICE PRESIDENTS were in attendance.
    It reflects poorly on the institution and I hope the Board of Governors take note.
    It is embarrassing, and they should be ashamed.
