'Comprehensive' road works commence in Sea Cows Bay
According to the Ministry of Communications and Works, the comprehensive road works in Sea Cows Bay are part of an ongoing infrastructural development programme by the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) government.
Director of the Public Works Department, Mr Jeremy W. Hodge said the project is aimed at improving the Territory’s Road network and includes road rehabilitation and resurfacing.
“Additional works may involve drainage improvements where necessary. The road works are set to begin on Wednesday, September 4 and will continue during daytime hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Ebenezer Thomas Primary School to The Boys Gas Station. The completion of these works will significantly improve the quality of life for residents and enhance the overall infrastructure of the area,” Mr Hodge stated in a Government Information Service (GIS) press release on September 4, 2024.
Works to be completed by Sept 7
The public is urged to exercise caution and follow all signage during this period. Works are expected to be completed by Saturday, September 7, 2024.
The Ministry of Communications and Works is apologising for any disruption.

We boast about the increased of tourist that have visited our shores and so forth, but as far as ensuring them a comfortable and relaxing ride on our traffic roads no such thing occurred because of many potholes and rough jagged constantly using traffic roads.
Everyone, I hope, is for much better roads upkeep, but this isn't the reality, because much of our available finances have been and continuing being mismanaging unjustly for selfish, pleasurous reasons not in our best interest, not as was promised by our political Leaders.
