ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The BVI Chamber of Commerce (BVICoC) is reaching out to the business community to gather insights and feedback on the issue of crime and its impact on businesses in the [British] Virgin Islands.

BVIoC in a press release on February 7, 2024, said as the leading advocate for businesses across the territory, the BVICoC recognises the importance of addressing concerns related to crime and its effects on the VI society.

It added that understanding the challenges faced by business owners is crucial in formulating effective strategies to advocate for safer environments and support systems.

"We value the input of our business community and believe that your feedback is instrumental in guiding our advocacy efforts. By understanding the experiences and perspectives of local businesses regarding crime, we can better advocate for measures that promote safety and security for all," expressed the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mrs Shaina M. Smith-Archer.

'Ensuring voices of business owners are heard'

The BVICoC invites business owners to share their thoughts, experiences, and suggestions on how crime impacts their operations, the wider community, and what actions the Chamber of Commerce can take to advocate on their behalf by taking the business crime survey at https://forms.gle/svT5tx3bMVv5r9bX8.

BVIoC said the feedback of businesses is essential in shaping the Chamber's advocacy agenda and ensuring that the voices of business owners are heard at all levels of decision-making.

"We thank you in advance for your valuable contributions to this important discussion," added Mrs Smith-Archer. "Together, we can work towards creating a safer and more conducive environment for businesses to thrive."

The greatest threat to business in the BVI are the labour and I migration departments, particularly the latter.

It does not seem to, have reached the attention of these neanderthals that is a world wide labour shortage.

And everything they do makes it worse.
