Acquitted policeman seeking to have charges struck out from records
According to a court document issued on the court’s website on February 18, 2022, through his attorney, the now acquitted man will be making two strike-out applications.
The first application will be made at 9:00am and the second at 10:00am before Master Alvin Pariagsingh on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, via Zoom.
Henry is being represented by Phoenix Law against the Attorney General of the Virgin Islands.
Initially, the three interdicted policemen had a string of charges relating to the missing monies stacked against them.
However, at the end of the case, which lasted nearly three months in 2019, Henry was acquitted and is now a free man.
Henry was accused of conspiracy to steal and was found not guilty by a jury.
Henry sued AG & CoP
Following the ruling, Henry filed a civil claim against the Attorney General and the Commissioner of Police seeking damages for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.
He claims that he was incarcerated for over 30 days before he received bail at the high court.
In the meantime, the re-trial for Prevost and Henry started earlier this month at the high court before His Lordship the Honourable Justice Raymond C.S. Williams.
