$50k bail for Baughers Bay man accused of Obtaining Money by Deception

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A resident of Baughers Bay was recently granted $50,000.00 bail after being arrested and charged for Obtaining Money by Deception and two counts of Possession of Proceeds of Criminal Conduct.

It was on March 15, 2023, Devon Smith, 42, was arrested and charged, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated in its Arrest Blotter for March 12-25, 2023.

Smith was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 with one signed surety and is to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on April 25, 2023.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED DRUG

  1. On 14-03-2023 at about 0005hrs, Police arrested and charged Jahkoy Martin, 19, of Carrot Bay for Possession of a Controlled Drug. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety to appear before Magistrate’s Court on 25-04-2023.
  2. On 17-03-2023 at about 2050hrs, Police arrested and charged Aaron Headley, 28, of Diamond Estate for the offences of Possession of a Controlled Drug and Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply.
  3. On 17-03-2023 at about 2355hrs, Police arrested and charged Gregory Bryan, 49, of Greenland for Possession of a Controlled Drug. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety to appear before Magistrate’s Court on 05-05-2023.

ASSAULT CAUSING ACTUAL BODILY HARM

On 15-03-2023 at about 1054hrs, Police arrested and charged a 15-year-old male of Parham Town for Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm. He was granted bail in the sum of $2,500 with one surety to appear before Magistrate’s Court on 03-05-2023.

BURGLARY

On 15-03-2023 at about 1126hrs, Police arrested and charged Mekhi Heskey, 20, of Village Cay for Burglary. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety to appear before Magistrate’s Court on 05-05-2023. 

INDECENT ASSAULT

On 17-03-2023 at about 0640hrs, Police arrested and charged Junior Douglas, 44, of Hope Hill for Indecent Assault.

CARRYING AN UNLICENSED FIREARM

On 24-03-2023 at about 1715hrs, Police arrested and charged Akeem Robinson, 34, of West End, for Carrying an Unlicenced Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

FAIL TO STOP VEHICLE AT REQUEST OF A POLICE OFFICER

On 24-03-2023 about 1858hrs, Police arrested and charged Johnoi Frank, 22, of Horse Path for Failing to Stop Vehicle at Request of an Officer, Driving without a Driver’s License, Driving Unlicensed Vehicle, Driving Uninsured Vehicle, Driving without a Front Identification Plate, Driving without a Rear Identification Plate, and Driving without a Crash Helmet.
