29-year-old man is 19th homicide for 2025 in USVI

GROVE PLACE, St Croix, USVI- The [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) has announced that it is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday evening, June 21, 2025, in Grove Place, resulting in the death of 29-year-old Dasha Graham.

It is the 19th homicide for 2025 in the USVI and the 10th on St Croix.

According to police, at approximately 6:15 p.m. on June 21, the 911 Emergency Call Centre was alerted to multiple gunshots fired near the Cozy Corner area of Grove Place. The notification came via the department’s ShotSpotter system, a gunshot detection technology used to monitor and respond to firearm discharges in real time.

Shortly after the initial alert, a caller contacted emergency services to report that a male individual may have been injured in the incident. Responding officers later confirmed that the man had succumbed to his injuries. He was identified at the scene by a family member as Dasha Graham.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding possible suspects or a motive for the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.

The VIPD is urging members of the public who may have seen or heard anything related to the shooting to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 778-2211, call 911, or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). All reports will be kept confidential.
