EUGENE, Oregon, USA- Virgin Islander and University of Georgia freshman, Adaejah T. Hodge, won the NCAA outdoor track and field 200-meter national title in a personal-best 21.68 seconds, shattering former Kentucky standout Abby Steiner's long-standing mark of 21.80, at Hayward Field on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Even more remarkably, it elevated Hodge into rare company on the all-time world list. Her 21.68, a World Lead, ties Melissa Jefferson-Wooden as the eighth-fastest performance ever recorded by a woman over 200 meters, and is also a Virgin Islands' National Record.

Taking second was Shawnti Jackson of Louisiana State University (LSU) in 22.12 (PB), while third was Camryn Dickson of Texas A&M in 22.18.

100m Silver

It was the second time in three days, Hodge took down a collegiate record, as she burst into the 100m final with a wind-legal 10.63 seconds and demolished Sha’Carri Richardson’s 10.75 seconds NCAA Championships Record from 2019, and also shattered her own 10.77 PB, and National record.

Hodge then ran 10.93s for second in the final on Saturday.

Shenese Walker, a senior of Florida State University, crossed the finish line in 10.88 to secure the biggest victory of her collegiate career.

Hodge then put that 100m final loss behind to etch her name in history in toe Women's 200m final.

Although she was running her sixth race in three days, she had plenty left in the tank.

"Actually, no, I wasn't," Hodge said when asked if she was upset about the outcome of the 100. "In track and field, you've got to learn how to compartmentalise. I think I did a great job of forgetting the 100, coming back and running my heart out in the (200). ... It was definitely just about going back, like, 'Hey, it is what it is. It's all part of God's plan. Move forward to the next event.' That just shows my maturity in the sport."

Hodge's accomplishments helped the Bulldogs to the national title with 50 points.
