2 charged after drugs found in vehicle @ Fat Hogs Bay

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Two young men, including an 18-year-old, are facing drugs and firearm charges, after officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) intercepted a suspicious vehicle after 11:00 PM on October 28, 2023, while on routine patrol in the Fat Hog’s Bay area.

According to the RVIPF in a press release today, October 31, 2023, the vehicle was stopped and searched, and a quantity of drugs were found.

Two male occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession.

Police said the scene was revisited the following morning, and a firearm was found in nearby bushes.

Keanus Smart & Khaleed Francis charged

Keanus Smart, 18 of Free Bottom and Khaleed Francis, 24 of Nottingham Estate were both charged for the offenses of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug, and Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm.

Police also said the two have been charged with Unlawful Possession of Explosives and that it was in relation to the discovery of ammunition during the initial vehicle interception.

They remain in custody until their appearance at the Magistrate’s Court.

      "Routine patrol". Why was it so hard for them to do this before?

      Now they need to do some of the patrols in unmarked vehicles. I would suggest they use a blacked out Kia Soul doing 60 mph - to blend right in.
