ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Acting Commissioner of the Royal Virgin Islands Police (RVIPF), Jacqueline E. Vanterpool, held a prestigious Commendation Ceremony to honour the exemplary service of eight dedicated police officers and seven committed members of the Marine Unit.

During the ceremony, Acting Commissioner Vanterpool recognised the remarkable efforts of the officers involved in a recent drug interception operation. Their quick action and teamwork were pivotal in successfully apprehending multiple suspects linked to serious immigration violations and drug trafficking offences, showcasing their commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the Territory. 

In addition to the police officers involved in the drug operation, she also acknowledged the outstanding work of the Road Policing Unit. 

These officers have consistently demonstrated excellence in traffic management, ensuring the safety of residents and visitors alike. 

Their proactive approach to road safety and enforcement has significantly contributed to reducing traffic incidents in the Virgin Islands. 

The RVIPF said it takes immense pride in its officers, who embody the core values of integrity, service, and protection. 

This commendation serves as a testament to their unwavering dedication and professionalism in serving the community. 

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force added that it remains steadfast in its mission to protect the Territory and its people, and the recognition of these officers exemplifies the force's commitment to excellence in law enforcement across the Virgin Islands.
