ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – When the four young women hit the stage of the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium, H. Lavity Stoutt Community College campus in Paraquita Bay this Saturday October 3, 2015 for Miss World BVI, they will have the pleasure of sharing the same stage with inaugural X Factor USA winner and Virgin Islander Melanie A. Amaro.

Melanie Ann Amaro is an American recording artist who won the first season of The X Factor USA in 2011, securing a $5 million recording contract with Syco Music and Epic Records. Amaro was also the youngest contestant to win the competition during the show's run (2011-2013).

Speaking with this news site, Director of Miss World BVI Mr Damion C. Grange said the contestants are looking forward to the interaction and sharing of the stage with Amaro. “Melanie Ann Amaro is a woman to emulate and she, I am confident, while enthralling the audience as a guest artiste will be of a great inspiration to all four of the young women.”

The four young women who will be gracing the stage this weekend with the hope of being selected to represent the Virgin Islands at the Miss World Pageant in China this year are Sasha Wintz, Bryana Nycol Robles-Dixon, Yadali Thomas-Santos and Mindy Paul.

According to Grange, the contestants have so far proven that the level of intelligence is of a high standard that equally matches their beauty, passion for country and the willingness to be strong ambassadors for the VI.

While the four have been putting in all they can into their preparation for the pageant, when it comes to them practicing public speaking, stage routine among others, they have been taking every opportunity that presents to interact with the community at various levels.

Just recently they had what was described as a very inspirational interaction with President of the BVI Cancer Society Ms Gloria A. Fahie and most recently, last night September 30, 2015, they were guests at the Rotary Club of Road Town’s special cocktail interactive meeting.

“The interaction with the Rotary family was awesome, the girls and members of the committee had a great time mingling, dancing, playing games and at the same time garnering support for the pageant. Rotary family was in its true colours last night, with the interactors, rotaractors, early acts, and the Rotary members from all the clubs,” said Grange.

Grange said he anticipates a massive turnout for the pageant and is confident that the standard will be at an all-time high and the special appearance of international artist Amaro and the locals B’More, Da Jedi and Jeremy Vanterpool will definitely be a plus.

The show is scheduled to start at 7:00pm.
