Would truth be told on Biwater & law firms doing business with NDP Gov’t?
However, he failed to be truthful by telling the people while on his HoA rant that Biwater is no longer in the Virgin Islands as the water plant had been sold to Seven Seas Water in August 2015.
There is one Biwater personnel fulfilling their warranty role for the two free sewerage treatment plants still left in the Virgin Islands (VI). These sewerage treatment plants, valued over $5M, were negotiated by the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Administration as part of the Water Purchase Agreement.
The truth about Biwater’s cost
At the upcoming HoA Sitting of October 13, 2016 and after his claims in the Parliament, Hon Vanterpool will now have to answer, “truthfully” we hope, what was the bill submitted by Biwater to the Water and Sewerage Department from the start of water production up until when Biwater was sold to Seven Seas.
In addition, Minister Vanterpool will have to give the HoA details on the Bill submitted by Seven Seas for water after they purchased the operation from Biwater up to August 2016. The answers should put to rest the rants and claims by Hon Vanterpool that the cost of water has gone up and is different to what was signed by BiWater.
Conflict of Interest? Law firms doing business with government
In addition, there have been claims about law firms that are linked to a Minister and a Speaker doing business with Government and Statutory Bodies. We all remember that before the 2015 general elections it was unearthed in the HoA, via a question from the Opposition, that then Orion Law, before the name changed, with partners controversial Minister for Education and Culture Hon Myron V. Walwyn, an At Large Member, and Speaker of the House Ingrid A. Moses, was doing business directly and indirectly with Government Statutory Bodies.
Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) is to ask the Premier about all law firms doing business with central government and statutory bodies and how much they were paid and why were they hired. Also, we are to learn from Hon Fahie’s question all consultants hired by the NDP Administration and how much they were paid.
The HoA meeting will be broadcast live on CBN Channel 51 on October 13, 2016 from 10:00 AM from is Chambers in Road Town, the VI’s capital city.

I am 99.999% certain that the figures requested will "not be available" at this time, for one reason or another. I am further 99.999% certain that the words, "I do not recall" will also be used (more than once) during the HoA meeting. It's how they roll and since there are no penalties of any kind for not providing this information, we can all go sit down.
No freedom of information act, no penalties, no accountability. Why bother tuning in?
