ESTATE DIAMOND, St. Croix, USVI — A USVI woman survived a barrage of bullets after multiple shots were fired through her bedroom window, striking her in the face, USVIPD Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced this week.

The incident occurred in the wee hours of Saturday morning, April 20, 2019, at about 2:11am in Estate Diamond. Officers responded to the scene after being alerted by the 911 emergency call centre at about the same time.

According to police, the victim was asleep when she was shot through a window in her bedroom.

She was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital via ambulance for treatment, where she was reportedly in stable condition.

Mr Dratte said the incident remains under investigation by the USVI Criminal Investigation Bureau.
