CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI — A woman succumbed to wounds she sustained after falling some 40 feet from a hotel room in St Thomas, USVI, VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced yesterday afternoon January 12, 2016.

According to Ms. Freeman, officers received notification on Monday from the 911 emergency call center concerning a woman being treated at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital, who had experienced a traumatic fall from her hotel room.

Ms. Freeman said responding officers made contact with the victim’s husband, who stated that he and his wife were in their rented unit at the Point Pleasant Resort; and he was watching television in the living room while she was in the unit’s bedroom.

The husband said he then heard a noise emanating from the bedroom area, which prompted him to inquiry as to what was taking place. While attempting to check on his wife, the husband said he noticed that the bathroom door was locked. He then proceeded to call his wife’s name, however he received no response, and made a decision to force his way through the door.

The husband was too late, however, telling police that his wife had already fallen 40 feet to the ground. The widower said he immediately phoned 911 for help. The wife died on Tuesday at 12:23 a.m.

Ms. Freeman said the incident is under investigation by detectives with the USVI Criminal Investigation Bureau.

If the husband's story is true, she committed suicide. The bedroom door being locked says it all.

No the bathroom door being lock says that she was trying to get away from him. come on now, we watch enough of CSI to know this.

The police needs to investigate this thoroughly . His story sounds fishy and full of holes. He was watching TV in the living room, heard noise coming from the bedroom, found bathroom door locked, looked outside his wife had already fallen 40 ft to the ground. Some story.

This is should be an open and closed case. Sounds to me like this couple had an altercation and the wife was trying to get away from the husband and locked herself in the bathroom. She was probably trying to escape the unit through the bathroom window and accidentally fell to her death. Police will most like find force entry into the bathroom as the husband was trying to kill her, not help her....my theory.

Your theory is exactly what I was thinking!! Investigators got to inquire about their marriage and dig deep to find the missing pieces to this puzzle.
