Woman burnt with acid in Guyana

GEORGETOWN, Guyana- A 22-year old woman has been burnt with acid and she is hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

Hospital sources confirmed that she is 22-year old Sandy Jackman of 64 Sixth Street, Alberttown.

Sources said that someone on a bicycle threw acid on her face while she was sitting on the corner of Sixth and Cummings Streets, Alberttown, Georgetown shortly after 8 O’clock Friday night.

No one has been arrested. 

The circumstances that led to the acid throwing incident were not immediately known.
