Wins for Moses & Crumpler in HLSCC Race 3

With wins for Tarique Moses and Katrina Crumpler in last Saturday’s, October 25, 2014, race 3 of the nineteenth Highland Spring H. PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI - With wins for Tarique Moses and Katrina Crumpler in last Saturday’s, October 25, 2014, race 3 of the nineteenth Highland Spring H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) Race series the titles in many areas have been secured while others remain up for grabs.

After race #3 Tarique Moses captured his second win in a time of 11 minutes 27:56 seconds and now leads the men overall category with Khiry Creque remaining the next best contender. For the women, Katrina Crumpler with her race #3 victory in a time of 13:05.56 is now a part of a three way tie with Samantha John and Tarika Moses.

In the one mile (under-9) race, Sam Potgieter claimed the win in Saturday’s race in the absence of Delano Hodge. New comer Jahnare Farrington took second and Latriel Williams third. For the girls Asia McMaster has sealed the title of one mile champion with her third win. With Ashley Brockbank and Tamri Thomas placing second and third respectively, these overall places are now left to be determined at the final race.

In Cross country (Team Division) Team, Althea Scatliffe -1 who has been leading the series, due to not fielding a full team placed fifth and has now opened the primary arena going into the finals. Team Joyce Samuel-1 as the winners of race #3 has now positioned themselves to likely place in the top three and Francis Lettsome Team-1 with their second place finish also remains a top contender.

In the other divisions Team Cedar Secondary, Rotary of Tortola and Team Cedar School PTA all secured their third win in their respective divisions.

The final race which will be followed by the award ceremony is scheduled for Saturday November 15, 2014. Registration is at 6:30 a.m. and race starts at 7:00 a.m. For further information regarding the series please contact Ms. Russ Penn @852-7216. Additionally, all are invited to the Sunset walk hosted by HLSCC in support of Family Support Network and the BVI Cancer Society on Friday October 31, 2014. Registration from 4 pm; Walk starts at 5:30 p.m. Wear pink or purple or both. Adults $5; Children (under 10) $1.
